Matt Barile: Production Coordinator/Composer
After starting as an intern in January 2011, Matt has expanded his role with Audiobrain to Production Coordinator / Composer. He works closely with Audrey in maintaining project schedules and ensuring timely deliverables while supporting the composers with a variety of research and creative-based functions. Matt’s musical knowledge, enthusiasm for sound, and compositional skill set assimilated him into a hybrid role with Audiobrain as both Production Coordinator and Composer.
While attending Binghamton University for undergraduate studies he worked for 4 years at the campus’ music venue, The Undergrounds, serving as the Lead Audio Engineer and Venue Manager. After graduating from Binghamton in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, and subsequently working 2 years as an auditor for a large bank, Matt successfully navigated a radical career change. He attended NYU Steinhardt in the Fall of 2010, very shortly after joining Audiobrain, and graduated in May 2012 with an MA in Music Business, Concentration in Music Technology.
A self-taught musician, Matt has been playing guitar and singing since age 13, over the years adding a variety of other instruments to his repertoire; after fronting several cover bands and original acts over the last decade, he currently finds himself performing with, writing for, and producing for an art-rock trio, Goody Proctor. Matt has recently served as recordist, mixing/mastering engineer, and producer for a variety of New York-based musicians and songwriters.
