Audiobrain Returns from Hugely Successful Olympics Games Broadcast!

Audiobrain has been in Beijing since July 30, serving as NBC's Music Supervisors for their Beijing Olympic Games Broadcast. This was our fourth Olympics collaboration with NBC, and without question our largest undertaking to date. A music initiative that was nearly 2 years in planning, our responsibilities included musical content procurement from publishers, labels and artists, consulting on the music system design and information organization, and creative support to NBC’s producers both on-site at the Games in China and at NBC in New York, as we ran 24/7 music operations in both locations.

The networks of NBC Universal aired 3,600 hours of coverage from Beijing - more than the combined total of every previous Summer Games broadcast in the U.S. The coverage aired on 7 networks: NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, USA, Oxygen, Universal HD, and Telemundo, and there were 2,200 hours of live streaming broadband video available on NBCOlympics.com. That's alot of music supervision!

The events that unfolded during the Games, the stories that were created and the spectacular undertaking from beginning to end captivated the viewers and the response to the broadcast was overwhelming: The Beijing Olympic coverage was the most watched event in U.S. television history, and the largest undertaking in the history of broadcasting. Thank you to our colleagues at NBC Olympics for believing in us, trusting that we were the right team to head their music initiatives for this complex, historic endeavor, and for taking us along for this once-in-a-lifetime ride!

Real Arcade has cited Audiobrain's sound for the game WordUp! As Best Audio. Read the review below and click on the link

"BEST AUDIO: WordUp. Sound treatment often doesn't get the attention it deserves during game development. The folks at Skunk Studios NAILED it with the sound and music for WordUp. Appropriate, funky, with a subtle yet compelling interrelation between the sound elements and user action that draws the player into the game "world". Awesome. "
